Books That changed me

I love reading, and I have never done it nearly as much as I’d like to. I go through phases of spending time reading, and then skipping months at a time. There have been times I have been so into a book, reading it every night, and then I fall out of the groove and never complete it, with no real explanation as to why. Since I was a teenager, I’ve always tended toward reading self-help, non-fiction, psychology, spiritual and wellness books over novels (though I have found more of an affinity for reading novels in the most recent years.) I like thinking about humanity, the world, the universe. I like pondering my existence, romanticising the world around me, connecting myself to humanity and finding inspiration through creative minds. Writers have a creative power that can penetrate deep into the minds and souls of those who are connected to the words. Through the years, there are a few books that I truly believe have changed my worldview, and I feel those are worth sharing.

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz - This is a book you can read over and over and it never get’s old. It’s an easy read, the content is simple, yet so profound. The Four Agreements can be applied in any situation; in your career, in your personal life and relationships, and with yourself.

Signs- For anyone who has ever lost a loved one- (isn’t that all of us?), this book opens up the universe.

The Creative Act- a walking meditation. For proclaimed artists, aspiring artists, admirers of art, and anyone in between.
